Preparing for ABRSM Piano Grade 8 taught me lasting discipline, respect for rules, and deep patience. There were no shortcuts. I had to sit at the piano every day, even when I lacked motivation. The exam demanded strict adherence to precise requirements: exact tempos, correct fingering, and accurate dynamics. I learned to accept that progress comes slowly, measure by measure. Frustration had to be met with calm persistence. A single piece could take months to mature. This long journey showed me that true achievement is built on routine, obedience to structure, and the endurance to wait for results over time.
