Besides giving the patients blood glucose strip tests, I also gave them advice on how to monitor and lower their blood sugar levels, such as eating more low-GI meals and reminding themselves to get body checks more regularly. Through direct conversations with patients, I applied my knowledge to real-world problems and gained a deeper understanding of their true needs., Volunteer Helper in YMCA Tsuen Wan Centre, 2022, I assisted in several services run by the YMCA Tsuen Wan Centre as a student volunteer. The indoor fun day was the highlight, drawing in about ten to twenty lower-class families and disabled attendees. We worked with the school to encourage environmentally-conscious behaviour among students and reduce the amount of non-recyclable plastic wastes on campus. This experience not only equipped me with cultural intelligence, but also empowered my sense of social harmony and community involvement., Statistical Project Competition for Secondary School Students, 2021 - 2022, My group selected the topic 'Understanding Labour Force Statistics,' and we looked into how the labour force in Hong Kong is distributed by age, sex, and unemployment rate by year using tables and charts. We also emphasised and underlined the factors-such as COVID-19 and an ageing population-that contribute to Hong Kong's uneven labour force distribution. My ability to analyse data and statistics from multiple perspectives has improved a lot as a result of this research project, which is crucial for assessing experimental results in the field of biomedical sciences.
