  • Challenging Statutory Permits Process for Infrastructure Projects:
  • The Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) was the first project in HK to adopt Strategic Fire Engineering (STF) in its design and planning, which entailed major exemptions from the Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance – as the Authorised Person Assistant, I was in charge of approving all submissions of building materials and fire resisting systems used inside the Terminal to ensure compliance with the STF;
  • The PTB was supported or related to 50 other smaller infrastructure buildings or structures on the Airport Island Platform
  • Our team was tasked to coordinate all the statutory processes with the corresponding consulting teams, and supervise the construction of those buildings or structures in order to ensure the occupation permits/completion acknowledge from the Buildings Department were achieved at the same time as the PTB;
  • The Occupation Permit of the PTB and the 50 other Infrastructure Projects were issued in time for public use after submission of a few hundred boxes of documents to the Building Authority;
  • The team was also tasked to close out the projects with the Hong Kong Airport Authority on behalf of the Mott Consortium
  • The Lily:
  • An iconic leaning residential tower rising up from the hillside of Repulse Bay commanding the stunning view of the bay and the beach in front
  • Coordinated the planning application effort to seek exemption from the vertical shadow definition of the Site Coverage requirement from the Planning Department to achieve the iconic leaning tower design in the form of a lily flower pedal;
  • Worked with structural engineer to achieve the leaning structure., -in-charge for a masterplanning and architectural design for the proposed Fengzhongsi above station MTR development in Beijing in collaboration with Maunsell Asia Ltd
  • A new planned community created by replacing the existing older neighborhoods with new high density, high quality mixed use developments of commercial retails, offices, hotels or serviced apartments and residential homes, centered around major transport facilities including the new Fengzhongsi MTR station and public bus interchanges
  • The proposed TOD buildings will consist a 3-storey retail podium on top of an underground shopping walking street and one and a half (1 ½) levels of basement parking, 3 office towers and 5 residential blocks amounting to a total development areas of 510,600 square meters

  • Interior Design Award Winner of Institution Category, of the Commercial Planning and Retail Design; led a team of US retail consultant and local architect for re-planning of all the commercial/retail areas; liaised with the Commercial Department of the Airport Authority and ensured all client’s requirements and concerns were incorporated in the new retail design and planning of the commercial areas; reviewed and commented proposals and submissions of sub-consultants to ensure the new design proposals was true to the original design and were technically feasible with the existing building systems and elements of the Terminal; implemented the design changes into the live contracts of the construction works as well as all the necessary submissions to government authorities; carried out site supervision of the new works
  • Assistant Authorized Person to assist the Authorized Person of the Terminal Building in supervising all interior works to ensure all installations were technically sound and in compliance with statutory requirements; and that the unique Fire Engineering Strategy was observed; was instrumental in liaising with the government authorities leading to the final issue of the Occupation Permit for the Passenger Terminal Building
