At Maryknoll Fathers School, I leveraged my expertise in curriculum implementation and student engagement to enhance Chinese language learning and promote Catholic values. My leadership in counseling reforms and interactive teaching methods significantly improved student motivation and established a supportive educational environment, showcasing my ability to foster academic and ethical growth.
As a teacher of Chinese Language,
Actively cooperated with the reformation of the subject and curriculum design, and realized the difficulties that lower form students were facing in dealing with this subject. I had tried different methods and incorporated various elements in my teaching. Some of those have successfully promoted students' interest and increased their motivation in learning the Chinese language.
As a teacher of E&RE.
Worked with the department to promote Catholic doctrines, hoping to let more students get to know God. In view of the small number of catholic students in this school, in the course design and promotion events, we tried to inculcate students with correct values and ethics as well as sharing practical daily examples to illustrate God’s unconditional love and kindness.
As head of the Counseling and Guidance department,
I have been serving as a student counselor since I joined MFS. With patience and a caring heart for students, I can build a close relationship and trust with students that helps me a lot in my counseling work.
On the role of counseling head, I started a few reforms of the team with the following key objectives:
- Redefine and clarify all processes in reporting, referral, communication, and follow-up between front line teachers and counseling team, and keeping records in individual case handling.
- Formulate an overall developmental counseling plan, in both the short and long term, for our students.
- Setup and strengthen preventive and nurturing plan, and identify potential students' issues at an early stage, so as to take remedial action in the forefront with comprehensive support services.
