I have been with the gaming industry since 2007. I joined Melco family as AVP, Elixir Gaming Technologies for Melco International. In 2009, I was transferred to Melco Resorts & Entertainment as Manager, Product & Planning. I was then transferred to Strategic Marketing & Analytics Department in 2009, and became Executive Director, International Marketing in 2015. I was appointed as the Acting Head and Executive Director, International Marketing in Jul 2016. I was promoted to Senior Vice President in Jan 2017 and then Executive Vice President and one of the EXCO team members in Apr 2019, leading and overseeing the whole VIP gaming operation, administration, analytics and Sales & marketing team of International Marketing & VIP and formulating strategies for all Melco properties in Macau and Manila. With over 15 years+ of extensive gaming analytical and management experiences in Macau gaming industry, I moved up the hierarchy from the role of gaming data analyst from year 2009 through 2016 (from Manager - Product Planning to Director - Strategic Marketing & Analytics then Executive Director - Strategy and Administration) to the leader of the whole VIP gaming business unit of all Melco properties (City of Dreams, Studio City and Altira in Macau and City of Dreams in Manila) since 2016, managing and leading the Sales Team, Operation & Elite Services Team, Strategy & Analytics Team and Administration Team of the VIP Gaming Business Unit.
Macau gaming market is a very competitive market since the cessation of the monopoly of SJM. Since then, six concessionaires (Melco, Sands China, Wynn, Galaxy, MGM and SJM) are competing on market share and EBITDA achievement. In such a competitive environment, gaming data analytics is crucial and essential to the success of the company.
VIP revenues accounted for approximately 60% of total gaming revenues of the company. Under my leadership of the business unit, with my analytical background, several key initiatives and strategies were implemented successfully. I transformed the whole business unit and improved the performance of VIP business (market share for both direct business and junket partnership business) of Melco from rank 4 or 5 out of 6 concessionaires in Macau before 2016 to rank 3 or 4 out of six concessionaires in 2017 and then rank 1 or 2 out of 6 concessionaires consistently from year 2018 onwards.
Furthermore, I was responsible for leading the VIP business unit in City of Dreams Manila since 2016 and assisted the start-up preparation of City of Dreams Mediterranean. Different analytics, strategies and initiatives were required in different gaming jurisdictions.
During my 15 years of exposures in such a competitive market, I went through many ups and downs. This equipped me with all the necessary analytical mindsets and knowledges to cope with the good and bad situations.
