  • Scope of Works: To manage the construction contract and supervise the construction works of the proposed Kai Tak River including the reconstruction, improvement and rehabilitation of a 600m long section of River (formerly named Kai Tak Nullah) from Wong Tai Sin Police Station to Tung Tau II Estate including nullah deepening and construction of a 400m long single-cell box culvert along the existing nullah

  • Managed relationships with clients, government officials, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assisted the Resident Engineers in contract administration

Involvement

  • Assisted in hydraulic model (1-D, 2-layer) construction and carried out model calibration by using field data collected from PUB
  • Prepared the recommendation to PUB with aid of flood maps showing where the rehabilitation works on the existing sewerage system were required

Project 2 - Agreement No. CE 3/2006 (DS) - Reconstruction and Improvement of Kai Tak Nullah (Choi Hung Road Section) Investigation, Design and Construction (Sep 2011 to Dec 2011)

Project Background

  • Client: The Drainage Services Department, Hong Kong.
  • Scope of Works: To re-design and re-construct the existing Kai Tak Nullah in order to increase the flow capacity (i.e. by construction of additional box culvert next to the existing nullah and carry out river deepening works from Wong Tai Sin Police Station to Tung Tau II Estate)

Involvement

  • Enhanced design processes through the incorporation of advanced software tools (e.g. InfoWorks CS)
  • Assisted in the fine-tuning of the hydraulic model (1-D, 2-layer) of the existing Kai Tak Nullah using the field data collected during two flooding cases in 2006
  • Assisted in the construction of the hydraulic model (1-D, 2-layer) of the proposed Kai Tak River
  • Derived a series of boundary conditions for the model in accordance with the Stormwater Drainage Manual
