I am a kind, hard-working and personable person, who understands how to work with children and how to get the best out of them. I do this through unconditional support, boundaries and genuine and real care for them. This allows me to build strong and real relationships and support them to improve their learning, or recognize their abilities. I understand people and relationships, and co-workers appreciate my dedication and care to the job I do.
I have overcome health-related barriers that have made me stronger and helped me to understand people's struggles more. Despite these, my working relationships have been strengthened, and schools have appreciated the effort I have put in to support them.

Whilst I specialised in rugby, I coached a wide range of sports and games to children aged 4-11, at a range of schools across a large range of socio-economic deprivation, in the Bristol area. I also had to build strong relationships with children and schools alike, sometimes for only a term, sometimes across a three year period.
I set up a mentoring programme run by our charity. We offered one-to-one support for children for whom the school identified with a need for it. This required me to build strong, genuine relationships with children from a range of backgrounds with a range of difficulties that they were facing. I also managed the mentoring programme and had a team of 9 coaches.

- Excellent people management skills I have led a team of mentors, who love being part of the programme They felt heard, and supported, because I put in place a supportive team environment, and made sure that they enjoyed being part of the team We would have regular meetings, often led by them, to support their development and confidence as managers
- Rugby coaching skills I have coached rugby at a range of levels, both paid and unpaid I have worked at colts level with a boys rugby club, I worked at Rugby Tots in Brisbane for free, I have coached rugby in primary school PE lessons and I have also coached University rugby to a women's team In the final job, I started as the development coach, for players mostly new to the game Here it was important to create a fun learning environment, whilst making sure that players were safe to play the game quickly, when moving to a full game The next year I was the forwards coach, where I had to coach in finer detail Sadly, I had to leave this post due to health complications and was not able to coach in the most recent season
- Strong relationship building skills Through mentoring, I have learned to build strong and lasting relationships with children, through active and attuned listening This has often been with children with high levels of trauma in their lives, who struggle with trust I have shown a strong aptitude, as schools who hire me for mentoring have continued to do this over a period of years I have also built strong relationships with the schools and teachers in it, through professional standards, genuine care for the children who I worked with, strong communication and a positive attitude
