I am a serious walker I need to walk to stay alive

After being an ESL teacher for 28 years, I had colleagues, back in Canada, who had been my students. Many of them told me 'Annie, we don't remember the grammar you taught us. We remember that you cared for us'. I think this is my signature style: I am a knowledgeable teacher who has always learned from her students. Being in that position makes my role even more important. My experience with teenagers and young adults made me the woman and mother I am today.
Before I came to China, I was an ESL teacher in a Middle-High school in Québec, Canada. I was responsible for 210 students. I worked at the same private school for 28 years. Evaluating the students' 4 English skills ( talking, listening, reading and writing) was part of my routine.
When I decided to come to China, it was because I needed a change. And I found it. I was hired to be an EAL teacher but also a Literacy Lead at the school. It was soon realized that I did not have the expertise to be a Literacy Lead. This is why my contract was not renewed.
