Alfie Holgate

I have always been driven by a sense of personal responsibility and a desire to hold myself to the highest possible standards, whether in the classroom or my personal life.

My time as Head Boy at Discovery Bay International school has been a defining period where I stepped into leadership through a year of public speaking, charity work, team meetings, mentoring and event planning. This role allowed me to lead by example, grow my composure, and taught me how to communicate with clarity even when addressing large audiences.

Beyond my school responsibilities, my role as a qualified football coach has allowed me to become a key member of my community. On the football pitch, I've found that coaching is where my situational awareness and quick judgment truly come alive; it requires the similar split second decision making and calm coordination that I aim to bring to a career in aviation.

Having lived in Hong Kong, I also bring a global perspective and strong appreciation for international living. Navigating such a fast-paced, multicultural hub has made me highly adaptable and taught me how to thrive in different environments.
