JW Marine’s core business is new motor yachts from Europe although as market conditions shifted since the GFC it has evolved and expanded into second-hand yacht brokerage and luxury yacht charter

  • Created and drove the sales process - Identified sales leads and negotiated sales agreements
  • Customer relationship management of existing and prospective clients – securing over 200 new clients with 95% customer retention by the end of 2013
  • Initiated and led expansion strategy into key new markets: Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, Tasmania and New Zealand and by identifying, training and managing local agents and sales staff. This programme increased sales volume and expanded customer base
  • Supported and managed sales and marketing staff
  • Established and controlled a custom CRM 'cloud' based sales system, which led to an increase in sales as well as procedural efficiencies. The custom system followed the customer from the beginning through purchase to eventual vessel management
  • Manage monthly marketing plans and budgets
  • Managed local and interstate trade shows, peaking in 2010 with an on water display of 11 boats valued at 15million AUD and resulting in the sale of 15 motor yachts within 1 month after the trade show
  • Established and maintained multi-million dollar supplier relationships with Beneteau and the Ferretti Group
  • Manage after-sales and warranty teams to support new boat customers
  • Acquisition of competitor ‘Yachting Unlimited’. Strategic move to capitalise on the growing large boat sector in the Australian Market. 12 months following the acquisition we achieved an increase in turnover of 4mil AUD per year
  • Implemented and accurately manage all company finances – cash flow, foreign currency strategy, creditors and debtors, tax invoicing, generating complex margin calculators, payroll, forecasting and reporting; saving 5-10% on foreign currency transactions
  • Implemented systems, procedures, relationships and supplier networks in initial business stages - including customer relationship module, which laid an invaluable future foundation
  • Oversee employment of all new staff, ensuring monthly and quarterly target figures are achieved
  • Established and manage interstate and international offices via formal sub-dealer relationships which generated considerable revenue and expanded customer base
